Deadline Extended for Tennesseans to Apply for Tornado Emergency Financial Assistance The American Red Cross is extending emergency financial assistance to those Tennesseans whose homes had major damage or were destroyed by the recent tornadoes that hit Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area. The original deadline was  March 26, for Tennessee tornado recovery . The American Red Cross is providing emergency financial assistance to people whose homes suffered major damage or were destroyed by the recent tornadoes that struck central Tennessee. Residents who were affected by the tornadoes can determine if they are qualified for this assistance and complete an application by calling   800-RED-CROSS   ( 800-733-2767 ) and selecting prompt #4. Those who think they may be eligible should call immediately. The deadline for applying for assistance is this Thursday, March 26.
